THE ARTIST’S STATEMENT

"The least you can do is do your part to the best of your ability then let things pan out"…Aik

My works are universal journeys and the human culture (Life). Regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, beliefs and diversity, we all feel the same.
Unless the work is from a particular historical culture or era, I do not like that works of art suffer from racial differentiation which instantly creates bias and limits the impact of the message behind the work.
My figures are painted in black and white because I paint for humanity. Literally, Black and White means that all is vivid for you to see with nothing hidden. It simply makes the painting universal and in so doing, breaks the initial racial barrier.
I use colour mainly in the eyes because I see the human soul through their eyes. Every individual colour has a representation which I use to express part of the message of the work. All my figures are realism with abstract meanings.
I don’t do series, so there are no relations or continuations in my paintings. I don’t do untitled paintings. Each painting is like a child, I know its sex and I know it’s name. Like every child, it is a complete entity and a complete story. I don’t have twins, let alone identical. For those that do, I am sure, each of them has its own name and sex which makes each a complete story as well.
However, anyone that interacts with my work (child) has the absolute right to see the work differently and give it a different name because that is what they see and feel.
