Feminine Seasons

What is constant if not change? What is more transient than the different seasons? Inspired by Enya’s ‘Wild Child’. Feminine seasons analyses the ephemeral nature of life through the lenses of seasons. It is dedicated to the female being through a deliberate division of four different seasons with two female portraits each. In the green season of spring, the first female portrait carries a conflicting autumn expression combined with a smile that masks her pain. She finds beauty even in challenging times. Below her, the second portrait is completely rendered grey. She defies any categorization whatsoever and remains complex. Summer is an orange interplay of emotions. Here, the first portrait unifies a summer warmth, but her eyes betray a glimpse of spring. Below, the second portrait wears a winter expression with deeply mysterious hazel eyes. Autumn – closely associated with change and introspection is next. The first portrait explores the complexity of summer emotions but displays hazel eyes, such an unexpected twist. Not too far below, the second portrait expresses spring, but evokes feelings of autumn. The last is winter. It is deeply melancholy and transforming, with the first female portrait giving a blue eyes expression and beanie yet somehow shedding tears. A public display of the vulnerability that comes with change. Closely beneath her, the second portrait is an unapologetic autumn with spring eyes and a smile that is complex. Feminine Seasons reveals that the emotions of the woman will speak louder than her voice and appearance, of which the man is oblivious. She has a face that stares and reads the man from any angle no matter where he is which depicts the high emotional intelligence of the woman over her male counterpart
